Trees and the lesson of resilience
Many trees bear leaves in summer,
beautiful and lush,
but these leaves turn yellow/red
and fall off the tree in autumn.
This process helps the tree
to survive winter when water is scarce,
as no leaves mean reduced water loss.
Then comes spring,
when conditions get better,
and the trees bear new flushes,
leaves grow again and the plants flower.
This leads to summer, the climax,
when flowers are pollinated
and fruits/seeds are formed.
What the plant goes through over the four seasons demonstrates a full cycle. These repetitive cycles that trees go through teach us an important lesson; that of resilience.
When something bad (negative) happens, remember that you will get over it if you are resilient.
Difficulties and challenges are part and parcel of living a full life; like the trees going through the four seasons that always bounce back after winter ends.
Lets learn this beautiful lesson of resilience from trees.
It is only when you can see the big picture (such as the four seasons that the plant goes through) that you realise the value of each phase in ensuring that the final outcome is positive and beneficial to the organism.
